Teeth

Did you ever think about teeth? Did you ever think that you could have more teeth as an adult than you would as a six year old? Did you think it was possible to still have a baby tooth at 20 years old? Well all of these things are true. My mom had a friend who is almost 30 and he still has a baby tooth.

Why am I talking about teeth? You guessed it, I lost a tooth.  I had five loose teeth until I lost one the other night. Five loose teeth? That’s a record to me.

Before I told my parents that I lost my tooth, I had a plan. I was going to see if the tooth fairy really existed. First, I videoed the time and date of me putting my tooth in a bag under my pillow. Then, I was supposed to go back downstairs and not let on that I’d lost my tooth. The next morning, I was going to show my parents the proof that the tooth fairy doesn’t exist if my tooth was still there. But instead, I had a bad feeling deep down that what I was going to do was going to spoil all the fun–even if the tooth fairy isn’t real. So, I went downstairs and said, “Hypothetically, if I had a plan to prove the tooth fairy didn’t exist and it worked, would that take away the fun of the tooth fairy?” My mom answered, “Yes, and did you lose a tooth?” I opened my mouth and said “yes!”

So, the next morning, under my pillow was a Sponge Bob Art Project and three dollars in quarters. I swear that I saw the Sponge Bob Art Project in the house before, but my mom swears back that I didn’t. So, what do you think? Is there really a tooth fairy?
